About Tamara & Twila:
Twila is a seasoned shop owner, having had successful shops in and near Lincoln, Nebraska, and Estes Park, Colorado. She uses the Wise Woman tradition to teach healing from the plants. Twila lives a simple life in the woods, close to nature. She is a “granny-woman” and Earth Mother. Her passions are many, including: country medicine-maker, gardener of herbs, flowers & organic veggies, wool worker with needle & hook, and dyer of wool and other natural fibers. She loves to share “words of wisdom” she’s gathered from many who walked before her, including her elders and teachers through the years.
Tamara is an educator, storyteller and ceremonialist with a deep passion for connecting people with Mother Earth and their own heart wisdom. She is a former professional speaker and English/Drama teacher with a Masters degree in Liberal Arts, and she has taught classes to people ranging from junior high students to company CEOs. She was the Weston Price Foundation chapter leader in Lawrence for over a decade, and she started the Kaw Valley Herbs Study Group in 2011. Tamara's classes at Good Earth Gatherings are outgrowths of her interests and ongoing learning, which include healthy living, herbalism, earth wisdom, natural skincare, women’s spirituality/herstory, and Tarot. She offers her skills as a group facilitator, storyteller and ceremonialist to the community as well, endeavoring to make her small part of the world a better place.
